Making Education Better. Together.

“Civilization is in a race between education and catastrophe. Let us learn the truth and spread it as far and wide as our circumstances allow. For the truth is the greatest weapon we have.” – H.G. Wells

It is an exciting time to be in education. We are in a period of unprecedented change in the world. The idea of learners as passive receivers of information is gone (or ought to be). The most prestigious institutions across the globe are opening their virtual doors and doing so free of charge. Technology is connecting people and helping us create, share and learn together in ways and on a scale unimaginable even 20 years ago. There is much to celebrate.

But not all of the change has been positive. The cost of traditional education continues its inexorable climb. A university degree is not the guarantee of employment it once was. Contemporary learner demands and industry needs are arguably no longer being met by systems and institutions created for another time.

Through all this change one constant remains true. Our future will depend on how we collectively create, transfer and value knowledge. How learner communities connect in this cause with industry, community, Government and institutions will shape the future of education.

Who we are and what we’re about

Ed. Collective chooses to be that connector, servant of learner communities and catalyst for learner-driven change. Over the coming months we will be asking questions and starting conversations about what the future could look like. We want to hear the full range of views of all sorts of learners… high school students, the school-leaver unsure of their next steps, the lawyer studying for their Masters part-time, the professional wanting to retrain for a career change, the solo parent studying to create a more prosperous future for themselves and their children. Everyone.

So, you can expect to hear from us. But, in the meantime, if you have an idea you want to share or question you want to ask, please do – we would love to hear from you. You can do that here.

Yes, it is an exciting time to be in education. Ed. Collective is delighted to be part of the present environment of change and we are excited about working with you all to help shape the future.
